From Wadi Musa (Petra) to Wadi Rum (2h – 112 km)

  • Morning local bus:

    • Departs Wadi Musa: ~6:00–6:30 AM, arrives ~8:30–9:00 AM

    • Price: 7–10 JOD (Reserve via your accommodation)

  • JETT Bus:

    • Departs Wadi Musa: 5:00 PM → Wadi Rum Visitors Center

  • Wadi Rum to Petra:

    • Departs 9:00 AM from Wadi Rum Rest House

🏜️ Arrival Process & Tour Start

 

📍 Step 1: Stop at the Visitors Center (Before Wadi Rum village)

  • Location: Wadi Rum Visitors Center

  • What to do:

    • If you have a Jordan Pass:

      • Park your car.

      • Go to the office at the beginning of the building (on the side) to show your pass to the police.

    • If you don’t have a Jordan Pass:

      • Buy a ticket at the ticket office: 7 JOD/adult, free for children under 12.

      • Then report to the police office (same as above) with your ticket.

 

💳 Note: There is only one ATM, and it’s here at the Visitors Center—not in Wadi Rum village. Bring enough cash with you for the tour and tips.

📍 Nabataean Temple
Located at the foot of Jebel Rum, near the Wadi Rum Rest House, this temple is a remnant of the Nabataean civilization that once inhabited the region. It's a fascinating site for history lovers and those curious about the ancient culture of the area.

💧 Ain Shallaleh (Spring)
Ain Shallaleh is a natural spring that has been a vital water source for Bedouin tribes for centuries. The area is peaceful and scenic, offering beautiful views of Wadi Rum village and ancient rock inscriptions along the way.

To reach the spring, start walking from the foot of Jebel Rum (about an 8-minute walk from the village) near a large concrete water tank. The trail follows the cliffside and takes approximately 20–30 minutes.
